Michael Hensley "Heart Mechanical" Official Video

Two toy robots fall in love in the music video for "Heart Mechanical," the title track to Michael Hensley's 2012 "Heart Mechanical" EP. Directed by Syuji Honda of Pure Soul Productions. Beating heart animation by Kip Lyall. "Heart Mechanical" is available on iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby, and most digital retailers. I personally donate $1 for every EP sold to the Trevor Project, a leader in crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBT youth.

Michael Hensley - Heart Mechanical

Michael Hensley returns with a 7-track EP, "Heart Mechanical," his first new release since 2008. Thematically, the album follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, juxtaposing emotion and reason, the human and the machine. The album’s heart beats hardest through its second track, "We’re Here to Recruit Your Kids," an aggressive response to anti-gay bigotry. Hensley is reacting to the farcical notion that gay people are exerting their sexual influence on children. “We’re here to recruit your kids to be whoever it is they want to be,” he decries. The song is a call-to-action and with its ferocious beats and swirling synths it is an anthem we can truly dance to. Other standouts include "Life is a Disco," which encourages listeners to embrace life set against a drum 'n' bass rhythm and vocal harmonies, while "Inside" is a dark techno love song that merges man and machine.

For every EP sold, Hensley is personally donating $1 to the Trevor Project, which provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth.
